USBF Gala 2009 Weekend Highlights, Award Honorees and Photos

The 2009 U.S.-Baltic Confluence Forum, Exchange and Gala , USBF’s annual silent auction and awards dinner, was held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC. In addition to the silent auction and dinner, USBF and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce in the Americas co-sponsored the Supply Chain Venture Forum, as well as the second annual U.S.-Baltic Ambassadors Luncheon.

Weekend Highlights

Latvian President Valdis Zatlers received the Baltic Statesmanship Award and delivered the keynote address at the dinner

Ambassador Robert Kupiecki of Poland and the Embassy of Poland hosted the annual VIP reception the Friday evening before the dinner

World renowned Latvian Chef Martins Ritins, Director of Vincents Restaurant in Riga, and President of Slow Food Latvia, created the gala dinner menu and was in attendance

The photo exhibition Unseen Lithuania by Marius Jovaisa was displayed during the reception and silent auction

Anita Brikman, co-anchor of the WUSA’s 9NEWS NOW in Washington, DC served as Master of Ceremonies
